Lüderitz and kolmanskop

Lüderitz is a harbor town from the German colonial era located on the southern coast of Namibia, surrounded by stark desert.

Here, the icy but clean South Atlantic is home to seals, penguins and other marine life. Heavy sea fogs and sand storms contribute to the rough weather conditions of Luederitz.

One of Luderitz' main attractions is Kolmanskop Ghost Town. This previously bustling diamond town is now abandoned and fights a constant struggle with the sand dunes of the Namib Desert.

Keetmanshoop is the main town in southern Namibia. It is home to the Keetmanshoop museum and serves as an economic and transportation hub for the entire south of the country. It is also situated near 2 quiver tree forests.

From Grünau you can see the two ranges that make up the Karas Mountains. These mountains are landmarks in southern Namibia, where they stand proudly above the rather flat surrounding terrain.

The Namib feral horses are unique in the sense that they have been isolated for a number of generations and nobody knows exactly where the wild horses originated.

.Fish River canyon

The Fish River Canyon, situated along the lower reaches of the Fish River, is one of the most impressive natural beauties in the southern part of Namibia. With a depth of up to 550 metres, the Fish River Canyon is the largest canyon in Africa.

Isolated pools left over from occasional flooding offers a cool relief to hikers who brave this 85-kilometre trail, ranked among the top five hiking trails in Southern Africa.

The 161km canyon comes to an end at Ai-Ais (meaning 'burning water' in Nama) where one of the most famous hot spring resorts in the country is located.
