This region is one of emense, diverse beauty and has much to offer the eco tourist, from the majestic Magaliesberg Mountains bordering the province of Gauteng, to the Pilanesberg and Madikwe National Parks.

The Pilanesberg National Park covers 650 square miles, and is set in the crater of the long extinct Pilanesberg Volcano.
It offers big game thrills with the Big Five of lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant, as well as hippo, cheetah, hyena, wild dogs, most antelope species and over 365 species of bird life. |
For the more adventurous there is water activities, mountain sports, hot air ballooning, hang gliding, parasailing, abseiling, hiking and lots more.
The Vaalkop Dam is situated east of Sun City, in typical broken bushveld country. It is renowned as both an anglers and birdwatching destination. Fish species such as yellowfish and carp, are abundant
in the dam.
