In 1920, Mr. Stoffel Visagie
discovered marble deposits at a "marble hole" while on a hunting trip, thus giving Marble Hall its name. The area is known for its art and craft centres as well as game farms offering interesting game drives.
The historical village of Botshabelo has many restored, historical buildings. The village is surrounded by a beautiful nature reserve, which has many antelope species. There are no predators and visitors can choose from three nature walks through the reserve.
