| Highlights: |
Livingstone: White Water Rafting / Canoeing on the Zambezi River.
The land through which the 2,700km Zambezi River cuts is some of Africa’s finest wilderness area, but can also be among the most treacherous, especially when navigating the shores of the river. For the most part, the tracks and roads are lined with trees and the escarpment on both the Zimbabwean and Zambian sides can be steep and dangerous. Some roads and paths have been forged along the river, but certain sections have fallen prey to erosion and occasionally, flooding. All 4x4 drivers should take precautions and ensure they have vehicle spares. During the arid season, flood plains are dry, grass cover minimal, and a fine dust covers much of the land. Although lush after the rains, the rushing waters can be hazardous and the wildlife present their own risks, while armed poachers may follow in their tracks.

| Diary: |
We spent the whole day with "White Water Rafting" it was exciting, thrilling, dangerous and funny!
Everybody survived, but with injuries everywhere and lots of sunburn! Back in the camp, we jumped in the pool, taken a shower, taken care of our injuries, then hobbled to the Lodgerestaurant to have dinner. After the dinner totally exhausted went to bed. |
