Route: From Livingstone on the T1 direction to Lusaka and approximately 20 km before Kafue on the T2 direction to Chirundu. 18 km before Chirundu bends to Kariba.

Highlights:

Lake Kariba one of the largest dams of the world.

The small town of Kariba is spread out along the steep lake sore and across a hill (Kariba Heights) overlooking Lake Kariba. The road winds up through the treecovered hills to Kariba Heights. There are lovely lake views through the trees and wildlife often can be seen in the town. Kariba has no real centre, although there is a lively township at Mahombekombe.

Downfalls: We couldn't swim in the Lake Kariba, because of crocodiles and Bilharzia.

Diary: In the morning we filled up our water tank with 42 litre of drinking water. A long drive from Livingstone to Siavonga. We arrived at campsite Eagle's Rest, prepared our camp, had dinner and went to bed.
