| Highlights: |
Chobe River: One of the biggest elephant populations in Africa.
The riverfront area of Chobe National Park is the most popular area for visitors. Every Southern African mammal species (expect the rhino) is represented here, and the abundance and variety of birdlife in this zone of permanent water is astonishing. The most obvious feature of the landscape is the damage done by the area’s massive elephant herds.
The northern park entrance lies 5km west of Kasane and is accessible by conventional vehicles. However, to reach Savuti or other places in the interior of the park, or to approach from Maun, you need a highclearance 4WD (four-wheel drive). Due to mud and flooding, Savuti is normally inaccessible from January to March.
A great way to enjoy Chobe is on a river trip or wildlife drive. The best time to cruise is late afternoon, when hippos amble elephants heading down for a drink and a romp in the water.
Livingstone: Zambezi River and the Victoria Falls National Park.

| Diary: |
Game drive through the Chobe N. P., where we saw a scarabeus, turtles and monkeys. We watched a group of elephants while they had their bath. After our arrival at the campsite we prepared our camp, taken a shower, had a braai and watched a bald eagle. In the night some baboons drank our wine. |
