Namibia has four of Africa's Big Five such as the well adapted desert elephant and buffaloes. It is also the only place in Africa where black rhinos do not live in nature reserves. This country is a bird paradise and a hidden treasure trove for the keen botanist, with fine examples like the Welwitschia Mirabilis.
The Orange River with its vineyards and fields is a stark contrast to Sossusvlei, the place with the highest sanddunes in the world. At the coast is Lüderitz and Swakopmund, globally renowned for their premier oysters, lobsters and fine architecture.
