Croc City Crocodile Farm is situated 50 kilometres north of Johannesburg Central and is close to game parks, the Lanseria International Airport, the Cradle of Humankind and the Hartbeespoort Dam.
We provide the opportunity for tourists to observe crocodiles at close range, as well as educating the public about crocodiles and their environment.
It is incredible to see these giants bask in the sun with their mouths wide open and of course, the peeping eyes out of the water are an absolute must see.
Three enclosures on the premises house the hatchlings, the more mature crocodiles and those over 60 years. Some of them are over four metres long. |
The third enclosure also has the nesting area. Here the females lay their eggs in cubicles, which are then removed and placed in an incubator. This way their chances of survival are much bigger.
The giants of today have not evolved much over the past 200 million years, leaving them closely related to dinosaurs. Our lecture room has regular video presentations and interesting objects are on display, for example crocodile eggs and skeletons.
A playground on the premises complete with crocodile shaped jumping castle, is ideal for kiddies birthday parties. The highlight of which is having their pictures taken with a hatchling on the arm.
Our tea garden is situated in a magnificent garden and offers delicious refreshments. The curio shop next door has a wide variety of souvenirs.
