This somewhat arid region bursts
into full bloom with an amazing wild flower display during August and September.
Throughout the year, visitors to
the region can enjoy bird watching, day trips to the Augrabies Waterfalls.
For the more adventurous there is even river rafting on the Orange River.
Trips to the West Coast and its fishing
villages. Indulge in the abundance of snoek and crayfish while watching
the diamond boats come ashore with loads of diamond-bearing gravel dredged
from the sea bed. |
| In the Goegap Nature reserve about
600 indigenous flower, 45 mammal species, birds, reptiles and amphibians
are found. In the Richtersveld the Skilpad Namaqua National Park
is also close enough to visit for the day.
