Gold Reef City Theme Park is more than an entertainment destination, it is a living piece of Jozi's history. The themepark allows visitors to taste life in turn-of-the-century Johannesburg, discovering how miners lived, worked and played.
The themepark is built around an authentic 19th century mine that was once the world's richest producer of gold. This mine yielded 1.4 million kilograms of gold by the time it was shut down in the 1970s.
