Khamkirri - Place of the Leopard
is what the Namas called this part of the world.
Our private game reserve of 7500
ha lies where the Orange River's mighty stream and the unspoilt Kalahari
meets.
Here you can really see the contrast
of the Green Kalahari, and watch twelve species of antelope as well as
explore 128 bird species. |
Activities include:
-
game drives,
-
river rafting,
-
4x4 routes (in our reserve),
-
4x2 Bakkie routes,
-
horse riding,
-
angling,
-
hiking and abseiling,
-
vineyard tours in the Augrabies area
and Kalahari tours.
Our reserve is ideally situated to visit
other attractions of the area such as Augrabies Falls National Park and
the Riemvasmaak Hot Spring (day tours) as well as other destinations such
as Richtersveld, Namaqualand and Namibia. |

Khamkirri offers four camps of accommodation
for the outdoor adventurer. All camps have basic ablution facilities which
include toilets, showers and basins, with hot and cold water but no electricity.
Situated next
to a dry river bed and shaded by Camel thorn trees, the Bushcamp is ideal
for tents and rooftop tents (bring own camping equipment).
The Augrabies
Falls 4x4 Camp comprises 6 A-frame log cabins, sleeping 2 people each and
providing communal ablution, kitchen and braai area. |
| While the
fully equipped Homestead & Hunters Cottage is in the game area and
sleeps 4 to 12 people, the Camelthorn River Camp is situated on the banks
of the Orange River.
It offers rondavels,
caravan and camping with ablution and braai facilities.
For functions
with a difference - book The Deck, or just relax here while the sun sets. |
