Maple Ridge Equestrian Farm, South Africa

Maple Ridge Equestrian Farm is set amongst natural indigenous acacia in the Cradle of Humankind, 35 kilometres from Johannesburg and only 3 kilometres from the Sterkfontein Caves.

We are a SANEF (South African National Equestrian Federation) recognized stableyard with international event venue status and has been hosting The Apaloosa National Show for many years.

Showjumping is our main discipline, but we cater for most disciplines including equitation, dressage, showing and eventing. With a grass Grand Prix and Derby showjumping arena, a large sand showjumping arena, a dressage arena and an additional sand arena, we ensure superb shows with tasteful European flavour.

Native acacias provide the food and habitats for a variety of birds and countless species of insects. This is partly why the horses that reside with us are relaxed and feel at home in their natural environment.

An en suite room and the function venue

Maple Ridge has 6 thatched en suite rooms that are suitable for a weekend getaway, family gatherings or just a way to experience horse life. We also have facilities for your caravan.

The farm can cater for a variety of functions such as school activities, weddings and conferences. Tailormade packages can include sleepovers with an outing to the Sterkfontein Caves, horse riding, obstacle course, mountain biking, hiking, bonfires and many other teambuilding activities.

Our theme based pony camps allow young riders to learn about horses, develop horsemanship skills, socialize in a positive environment and learn good values. Afternoon activities such as sports, tasks and stable work are all part of pony camp.

At any time we have horses for sale, from competition horses to first ponies and trail horses. With showjumping as our main focus, our collection of young stock with quality and potential, at various stages in their training are always available. We also have saddles and a variety of second hand tack and horse accessories for sale.
