Matumi Game Lodge, South Africa Matumi Game Lodge - the holiday game farm for the whole family. Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and absorb the peace and tranquillity found here at the foot of the Drakensberg.

Matumi is a privately owned and managed lodge situated on a prime wildlife area with doorstep access to the Kruger National Park. For a memorable getaway, visit Matumi and experience a perfect piece of Africa.

We have twelve four bed and two six bed thatched chalets with air conditioning and ceiling fans. Each chalet has a bath with shower fitting or shower. There is no TV and you certainly won't miss it!

The chalets are serviced and quality control is undertaken by Rooies - the resident impala. Apart from her "mowing duties" she is responsible for early morning visits to make sure guests are content and that the coffee and tea supplies are adequate!

Thatched Chalet
Pool area One of the attractive features is the pool area with an outdoor chess set - the perfect place to cool down, tan, have a refreshing drink and relax while enjoying a typical hot summer's day.

The shady gardens help to create an atmosphere of tranquillity.

For the energetic youngsters there is a playing ground with trampoline and swings.

Nothing can compare to dining in the open air in the wild - the rhythmic beat of African drums beckon guests to the boma (or lapa) for a sumptuous evening meal.

You will also have the opportunity to meet some of the Big Five family up close and personal - rhinos, large herds of buffalo and various other big game which can be viewed from the comfort of 4x4 vehicles.
