Rossmund
Golf Course

A round of golf at Rossmund is a
truly unique experience. On the banks of the ephemeral Swakop River, this
is only one of five desert golf courses in the world. Stroll amongst the
wild life and enjoy the resident buck and morning duets of the desert strike.
Golfing on this 6 068 metre par 72
fully grassed 18-hole golf course with its year round quality fairways
and slick greens is enormously rewarding. |
| Many sponsored national and local
competitions, as well as large corporate days, are part of the setting.
The likes of Dale Hayes, Gary Player and a host of circuit players are
well known at Rossmund.
There is no official academy as such,
but our local junior players are coached by some national players and,
by arrangement, a professional coach visits Rossmund on a regular basis. |

A large floodlighted putting green
and an excellent driving range are positioned in front of the lodge.
The clubhouse is a spacious building
situated on an elevated ridge with a large sun deck and a panoramic view
of the course and the 18th green. It boasts a bar / lounge, change room
facilities, restaurant and conference room. The latter two are ideally
available for functions, weddings and conferences. |
| There is an adequate pro shop in
the main clubhouse with most golfing amenities available. |
| The gardens, both on and off the
course, are planted with mainly indigenous plants and a few unique, non
indigenous plants which are carefully monitored.
The course with surrounds has a large
variety of date palms which are staggered along fairways and around greens,
all enhancing the spectacular setting. |
