The Save the Rhino Trust in Namibia is a non governmental welfare organization which has been active in the conservation of black rhino in the Kunene / Erongo Region for the past 16 years.
It is funded by donations made by individuals, business and wildlife organizations. |
| The success of our activities is attributed to the dedication of field staff who are local residents with exceptional knowledge of tracking.
Constant monitoring and patrolling of the area, combined with the strong involvement of local people and active conservation education has been instrumental in a sharp decline in poaching.
It is our aim ot increase the rhino population in the African ranges to 2000 in the next decade. |
 |
 |
The Save the Rhino Trust's Golden Rhino 2000 campaign is aimed at assisting the community conservation committees, NG's and government develop their ability to monitor the rhino population and home ranges, to identify and photograph every rhino. |
| We also want to ensure that tourism and utilization is sustainable and does not damage the rich biodiversity of the western Kunene and Erongo regions.
On special adventure safaris we offer you the possibility to learn interesting things about these rhinos, even to track them and to watch them whilst camping. Enjoy a wonderful holiday. |
